Study on Weight Function Distribution of Hybrid Gas-Liquid Two-Phase Flow Electromagnetic Flowmeter

Abstract: The electromagnetic flowmeter is usually used for single-phase fluid parameter measurement. When the measured fluid is gas-liquid two-phase flow, the geometry of the sensor measurement space will change with the movement of the gas, which will cause measurement errors. The weight function distribution is an important parameter to analyze such measurement errors. The traditional method for calculating the weight function of gas-liquid two-phase flow involves complex dimensional space transformation, which is di… Show more

“…How to accurately measure liquid flow has become one of the issues that people need to pay close attention to in the process of production and life [ 2 , 3 , 4 , 5 ]. Liquid-measuring instruments mainly include electromagnetic flowmeters [ 6 ], turbine flowmeters [ 7 ], vortex flowmeters [ 8 ] and ultrasonic flowmeters [ 9 ]. Compared with other types of flowmeters, ultrasonic flowmeters have the advantages of easy installation, a simple working principle, strong adaptability to pipe diameter, high measurement accuracy and fast response speed.…”

“…The conductive liquid flows in the magnetic field and cuts the magnetic induction lines, so that the voltage signal can be sensed by electrodes located on the flow pipe walls [20] and form the output circuit of voltage and current and, finally, the speed of water can be calculated [21]. The advantages of electromagnetic flowmeters are wide measuring range, high measuring accuracy and low power consumption [22], so they are often used to measure single-phase fluid, as well as two-phase fluid gas-liquid [22][23][24], liquid-liquid [25,26], etc. There are several metering principles for ultrasonic flowmeters [27].…”
