Study on Tribological Properties of Carbon/Aramid Fabric Coatings Modified by Boron Nitride of Single Layer

Abstract: Carbon/aramid fabric composite coatings modified with boron nitride of single layer were fabricated through a dip-coating method. The composite coatings were cured with successive heating processes in an oven. The friction and wear properties of those asprepared coatings were studied on a block-on-ring tester. The obtained results showed that the wear life of the coatings increased obviously after inclusion of boron nitride of single layer; however, the values of friction coefficients of the coatings almost re… Show more

“…Preparing epoxy matrix‐based composites by the incorporation of reinforcing fillers is the main modification method. Hitherto, reinforcing fibers have been employed to obtain anti‐wear epoxy composites, such as carbon fiber [ 8 ] , aramid fiber [ 9 ] , glass fiber [ 10 ] , and natural fiber [ 11 ] . Owing to high specific surface area and surface activity, nanomaterial also has been widely applied in epoxy composites, such as nanotubes [ 12 ] , nanoparticles [ 13,14 ] , nano layered material [ 15,16 ] , and quantum dots [ 17 ] .…”
