Study on the Synergetic Fire-Retardant Effect of Nano-Sb2O3 in PBT Matrix

Abstract: Nano-Sb2O3 has excellent synergistic flame-retardant effects. It can effectively improve the comprehensive physical and mechanical properties of composites, reduce the use of flame retardants, save resources, and protect the environment. In this work, nanocomposites specimens were prepared by the melt-blending method. The thermal stability, mechanical properties, and flame retardancy of a nano-Sb2O3–brominated epoxy resin (BEO)–poly(butylene terephthalate) (PBT) composite were analyzed, using TGA and different… Show more

“…2528 On the other hand, thermal conductivity of AgNw provided homogeneous heating and cooling of the films during film formation resulted regular crystallization of polymer chains. 2931 Moreover, DSC curves of the heat treated (healing process at 130°C) films for 5 and 10 minutes showed the proper melting peaks compared to the pristine EVA and AgNw-EVA films and also, the peaks changed into wide melting regions that could be explained by crystalline structure of the polymers distracted during healing process. 24…”

“…Note that other potentially polluting substances contained in plastic are the bromine-containing flame retardants still used widely to meet the flammability standards of products [ 9 ]. Several recent scientific studies addressing the diverse aspects of plastics containing PVC and halogenated flame retardants were reported in the scientific journal Materials [ 10 , 11 , 12 , 13 , 14 , 15 ].…”
