“…The Tb 3+ and Eu 3+ -codoped Ba 2 SiO 4 powder samples were synthesized by applying an adapted sol-gel route developed in our research group [13,20]. Tetraethylorthosilicate (TEOS, C 8 H 20 O 4 Si, 99.9%, Fluka), hydrogen peroxide (H 2 O 2 , 36%, Synth), acetic acid (CH 3 COOH, 97%, VETEC), barium acetate (Ba(CH 3 COO) 2 , 99.9%, VETEC), europium oxide (Eu 2 O 3 , 99.99%, Aldrich), hydrochloric acid (HCl, 37%, Sigma), and terbium oxide (Tb 4 O 7 , 99.99%, Aldrich) were used as reactants.…”

“…The limit of detection was estimated using the statistical method where LOD = a + 3 S y/x , with a and S y/x being the intercept and the standard deviation of y-residuals of least-squares line (linear regression), respectively. The limit of quantification (or limit of determination) was calculated using LOQ = a + 10 S y/x [22][23][24]. The sensitivity was calculated from the slope of the least-squares line [22][23][24].…”

The precision of the proposed sensor platform was verified from intra-day (n = 10) and inter-day (n = 5) repeatability studies.…”
