Study on the physicochemical characteristics and dust suppression performance of new type chemical dust suppressant for copper mine pavement

Abstract: Mine road dust is an important source of dust in mine operations. The dust produced on the road surface is a great hazard to the workers. Aiming at the road dust of an open-pit mine, this paper conducts physical and chemical analysis of a dust suppressant prepared by using sodium polyacrylate as a binder, sodium carbonate as a moisture absorbent, polyethylene glycol as a water-retaining agent, and alkyl glycoside as a surfactant. Characterization of characteristics and dust suppression performance. The results… Show more

“…Ding [25] magnetized the surfactants in moist dust suppressants, thus enhancing the moisturizing capacity toward coal dust and improving the dust suppression performance. Huang [26] prepared a dust suppressant by using sodium polyacrylate as a binder, sodium carbonate as a moisture absorbent, polyethylene glycol as a water-retaining agent, and alkyl glycoside as a surfactant. Xiao [27] synthesized a polymer dust suppressant with raw materials of polyvinyl alcohol, carboxymethyl cellulose, and acrylamide.…”

“…Huang et al analyzed the changes of dust samples after spraying a dust suppressant by simulating a high-temperature environment. In this way, the water retention performance of the dust suppressant can be measured. , The experimental photos are shown in Figure ; place 20 g of the dust sample on the surface of a 90 mm culture dish and spray 5 g of the dust suppressant evenly. After the dust sample is completely wetted, put it into a 60 °C constant temperature drying oven drying to constant weight .…”

“…The relationship between normal displacement and shear displacement is described in Figure 9 . Due to the existence of irregular rough interfaces between rock and mortar, the normal displacement increases with the increase of shear displacement, while it fluctuates before the peak shear stress [ 61 , 62 ]. After that, a linear relationship is shown.…”
