“…The RLS technique has been widely used on proteins [37]. In recent years, it was successfully applied to biochemistry, environment and food analysis and so on [38]. As a new spectral analysis technique, light-scattering measurements by using a common spectrofluorometer are very simple, and sensitive.…”

“…3. After heat treatment from 40 to 48 • C, the RLS intensity slightly decreased (about 4%), however, it greatly enhanced by approximately 21% after heat treatment at 56 • C. Compared to that at 40 • C, the RLS intensity increased for about 10% after heat treatment from 60 to 84 • C. Then, the intensity dramatically increased for more than 60% after heat treatment from 84 to 98 • C. The RLS results reveal that heat treatment induces structural collapse in Pin1 and aggregation of it, resulting in an increase in the size of it [38,39]. It is showed that the enhancement in the RLS intensity is also due to the extended aggregates of electronically interacting chromophores [40][41][42].…”

“…Protein unfolding is usually reflected in a concomitant increase in their size which can be measured by the RLS method [38,39]. In order to detect the change in the compactness of Pin1 after heat treatment, RLS measurements were performed, and the results are shown in Fig.…”

“…Besides, 1‐naphthol is used as the biomarker for livestock and humans exposed to polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons. [ 9–11 ] In addition, halogen atoms in the molecules, besides biological activity, confer the physical properties to the molecules such as dissolution, transition between membranes, stability, high boiling point, and so forth. [ 12 ]…”
