Study on the adsorption properties of multiple-generation hyperbranched collagen fibers towards isolan-series acid dyes

Abstract: Collagen fibers extracted from leather wastes were modified by amino-terminated hyperbranched polymers to prepare CF-HBPN-I and CF-HBPN-II. The adsorption process of CF-HBPN-II toward Isolan Black 2S-LD is in accordance with the pseudo-second-order and Langmuir model.

“…The nanocomposite exhibits a type IV isotherm per IUPAC classification, with a mesoporous structure characterized by a pore size of 11.34 nm. 36,37 A marginal rise in adsorption capacity was observed as the relative pressure increased up to 0.8. Beyond this point, a significant increase in adsorption capacity is evident in the relative pressure range from 0.8 to 1.0.…”

“…Physisorption or physical adsorption mainly occurs at lower temperatures, whereas chemisorption is more pronounced at higher temperatures. 36 Fig. 4a and b illustrate the adsorption of MB using AC/Ppy/CuPc nanocomposite at 40 1C and 50 1C, keeping other parameters constant.…”

“…Another group of natural adhesives are collagen-based adhesives. Collagen has adsorption properties of coagulation products that cause the adhesive to adhere to the wound by inducing platelet adhesion and activating clotting factors [ 58 , 59 ]. In the US, an adhesive called FloSeal [ 60 ] was registered to produce hemostasis in vascular surgery, while the Proceed product is designed to prevent and treat cerebrospinal fluid leaks [ 61 ].…”
