Study on Simulation Test of Peat Soil Environment in Dianchi Lake

Abstract: The effect and feasibility of peat soil environment (PSE) simulation pose a difficult problem for geotechnical environmental engineering. In this study, the actual content of humic group (HG) in peat soil of Dianchi Lake is determined, and the method of adding humic acid (HA) reagent into cohesive soil and soaking it in fulvic acid (FA) solution is used to simulate PSE of Dianchi Lake. By comparing the HG content of test samples and natural peat soil, the effect and feasibility of simulation test are studied. … Show more

“…According to the previous research results, the total content of HG in the peat soil of Dianchi Lake is between 7.15% and 50.06%. Among them, the content of HA is between 2.36% and 28.13%, and the content of FA is between 0.79% and 8.34% [16]. Te results provide the basis for incorporating HA and FA reagents in the samples.…”

“…Te results show that organic matter signifcantly afects peat soil's soil-water characteristic curve, and peat soil's water-holding capacity increases with increased organic matter content. In 2022, Cao et al [15,16] were used to simulate the peat soil environment (PES) by mixing HA reagent into cohesive soil and soaking it in an FA solution. Te test result shows that the PES with diferent HA and FA contents can simulate by this method, but soaking samples in FA solution cannot reach the actual efect.…”

“…The diameter of ultra-fine particles is small. The Van der Waals force between the particles is much larger than their gravity-part of the fine particles agglomerate reduces the comparative area of the agglomerate [30]. The surface reaction activity is reduced, the degree of hydration is lowered, and the amount of hydration products is reduced accordingly.…”

“…Considering the practicability and economy of the actual engineering, different UFC proportions γ (0%, 10%, 20%, 30%, 40%, 50%) were set with a gradient of 10%. The HA content of peat soil in the Dianchi Lake area is about 2.36% to 28.13% [26]. The HA reagent content λ (0%, 15%, 30%) was set according to the actual HA content, and the HA reagent was mixed with cohesive soil to simulate different peat soil environments.…”
