Study on CO 2 gasification kinetics of biomass char based on pore structure analysis: Theoretical modelling of structural parameter ψ in random pore model

Abstract: Summary In this work, the structural function of char gasification is modelled theoretically. Considering that different components will have different pore characteristics after pyrolysis, char is divided into different micro‐structures according to its corresponding components, and then a structural equation is constructed to realize the theoretical calculation of the structural parameter. Through comparison, it is found that the proposed model has high accuracy and shows applicability for different deminera… Show more

“…Until now, the RPM has been used to describe industrially relevant gas-solid reactions such as the carbonation of calcium oxide [42,43], char gasification [44][45][46] and combustion [47], and more recently, the reduction of iron oxides. However, it has been limited to describing a single reaction step or product layer systems, meaning its applicability has been severely restricted to the hematite-magnetite system [16] and the wustite-iron system [17] for iron oxides.…”

“…It can skip the detection of the characteristic parameter of char pores and directly predict char gasification by using the characteristic parameters of the sample. 19 In order to reduce the activation energy of the biomass gasification reaction, accelerate the gasification reaction rate, and improve the product quality, many researchers have added catalysts to the biomass. It has been proven that the addition of a catalyst enhances gasification reactions such as water gas, CO shift, steam methane, and tar cracking.…”
