Study on progressive collapse resistance of single-layer reticulated shells

Abstract: In order to analyze the progressive collapse resistance of single-layer reticulated shells, the finite element model of single-layer reticulated shell structure was established by ABAQUS software, and the method of removing key component constraints was used to simulate the progressive collapse resistance of the single-layer reticulated shell structure. The results show that the removal of the key components can cause the continuous failure of the upper members of the reticulated shell, and then lead to the pr… Show more

“…With the development of the economy and the continuous progress of society, the increasing demands for public entertainment venues have necessitated the emergence of large-span space structures [1]. Among these structures, the network and shell structure [2][3][4][5] has gained widespread application due to its numerous advantages, including its aesthetically pleasing design, uniform stress distribution, lightweight construction, high stiffness, and expansive coverage space.…”

“…With the development and progress of science and technology, people's production and living activities put forward higher requirements on the space, structure and function of buildings. The large-span spatial grid structure has the advantages of beautiful shape, superior mechanical properties, and large spatial span, making it being widely used in large public buildings such as terminals, large stadiums and theaters [1][2]. Public buildings tend to have heavy traffic and carry some important economic and social functions in the city, therefore the safety of public buildings should not be neglected.…”
