“…Such chemical heat pumps can be used for cooling applications [11,[15][16][17][18][19] and can be integrated into trigeneration (combined heating, cooling and power) systems [12]. Under certain operating conditions, chemical heat pumps can be more efficient and offer more attractive operation characteristics compared to compression heat pumps [11,12,20].…”

“…The required refrigerating temperature of refrigerated trucks generally ranges from -18 o C to 0 o C. In this paper, a refrigerated truck with a rated power of 80 kW is analyzed, and the cabin size is 4035×1935×1800 mm. The rated load capacity of this refrigerated truck is 1500 kg, and the required refrigerating capacity is shown in Table 1 (Gao et al, 2016a(Gao et al, , 2016b. (1) Sorption process of the HTS bed and desorption process of the MTS bed.…”

“…The researches mentioned above mostly focus on the adsorption air-conditioning system for which the refrigerating temperature is above 5 o C, so they are not suitable for refrigerated trucks. It is because the required refrigerating temperature of refrigerated trucks generally ranges from -18 o C to 0 o C. Based on the previous researches (Jiang et al, 2015;Wang et al, 2013), to make the sorption refrigeration cycle suitable for refrigerated trucks, Gao et al (2016aGao et al ( , 2016b proposed and established a MnCl 2 /CaCl 2 -NH 3 two-stage solid sorption freezing system driven directly by the exhaust gas, and composite sorbents of MnCl 2 and CaCl 2 developed by the expanded natural graphite treated with sulphuric acid (ENG-TSA)…”

“…Experiments showed that the desorption temperature of the machine decreased from 98 C to 75 C at a condensing temperature of 30 C, and meanwhile the sorption temperature increased from 16 C to 43 C at an evaporating temperature of À20 C. Such a machine provided a novel way of adapting to the low desorption temperature and the high sorption temperature. After that, Jiang et al [19] compared different working pairs of CaCl 2 /NaBr-NH 3 , CaCl 2 /BaCl 2 -NH 3 , SrCl 2 / BaCl 2 -NH 3 and SrCl 2 /NH 4 Cl-NH 3 for heat source temperatures below 100 C and the cooling temperatures of approximately 30 C. Then, Gao et al [20] proposed a novel working pair of MnCl 2 /CaCl 2 -NH 3 for utilizing the exhaust gas of the refrigerated truck, particularly for the low engine load condition in summer, and the results showed that the cycle could satisfy the critical operating conditions.…”
