Study on involute rotor profile based on pressure angle reduction

Abstract: By adopting the method of reducing the pressure angle, this paper carried out an improvement on the profile of traditional involute rotor. It’s whole tooth profile is described exactly by combining the meshing principle of gears with parameter equation. The study made clear that there were drops to some extent on the area utilization coefficient of the improved profile of involute rotor when compared with the traditional profile of the same structure, yet its coincident degree was increased along with the decr… Show more

“…To improve the area utilization ratio, Wang et al 8 constructed a novel eccentric involute screw rotor for the twin-screw vacuum pump, and established its geometric model. Liu et al 9 improved the cross-sectional profile of the traditional involute rotor by reducing the pressure angle, and its cross-sectional profile was described by parameter equations. In order to reduce the length of the spatial contact curve and leakage triangle area, Zaytsev et al 10 proposed a method for generating the rotor profile of the twin-screw compressor according to a meshing line.…”
