Study on Hypoglycemic Effect of the Drug Pair of Astragalus Radix and Dioscoreae Rhizoma in T2DM Rats by Network Pharmacology and Metabonomics

Abstract: Type 2 diabetes mellitus (T2DM) is a metabolic disease accompanied by a series of diseases such as diabetic nephropathy. The drug pair (HS) of Astragalus Radix (HQ) and Dioscoreae Rhizoma (SY) was designed by Dr. Shi Jinmo to improve the treatment of T2DM. However, the exact mechanism involved requires further clarification. In this work, 1H-NMR–based metabonomics and network pharmacology were adopted. Metabolic profiling indicated that the metabolic perturbation was reduced after HS treatment. The results fou… Show more

“…Abundant resources of dandelion can be obtained around the world (Yang & Zhang, 2020). Its flowers, leaves, and roots all have edible and medicinal value (Guo, Zhang, et al., 2019; Guo, Niu, et al., 2019). Dandelion contains amounts of polysaccharides, flavonoids, phenolic compounds, and terpenes (Diaz et al., 2018).…”

“…Dandelion contains amounts of polysaccharides, flavonoids, phenolic compounds, and terpenes (Diaz et al., 2018). These compounds decide that dandelion has biological functions of anticancer, anti‐inflammatory, antidiabetes, and antirheumatism (Gonzalez‐Castejon et al., 2012; Guo et al., 2019a; Guo, Niu, et al., 2019). Recent scientific researches showed that DRE could relieve the symptom of colitis in experimental mice and its abundant phenolic compounds showed excellent antioxidant property (Ding & Wen, 2018; Wirngo et al., 2016).…”

“…However, because of the complicated composition of the ingredients, the mechanism of traditional Chinese formulations in alleviating diabetes mellitus remains ambiguous. Astragalus membranaceous , known as Huang Qi in China, is one of most prevalent traditional Chinese herbal medical compounds with known therapeutic effect against diabetes mellitus [ 12 14 ]. Astragalus membranaceous has also shown great antioxidative and anti-inflammatory effects [ 15 ].…”
