Study on Growth Habit, SHG and Thermal Properties of Urea Phosphate Doped KDP Crystals

Abstract: Pure and doped with Urea Phosphate single crystals of Potassium Dihydrogen Phosphate (KDP) were grown by the low temperature solution growth method, adopting the technique of slow evaporation of the solvent for nonlinear optical applications. The change in the growth habit of the doped KDP crystals has been reported. The study confirms the decrease in the growth rate along c-axis with increasing the dopant concentration. The doping of the Urea Phosphate in the grown crystal has been confirmed qualitatively by … Show more

“…The crystal parameters and cell volume were found to be well in agreement with reported values [10] as shown in table (1).From the grown doped crystal lattice parameters and space group it is clear that the basic structural property and space group of KDP is not altered by the dopant [11]. …”

“…The use of special additives is an effective way to enhance metastable zone width and then accelerate the growth rate 18 . Recently, attempts have been increasing to modify the crystal properties by adding metallic [19][20][21] , inorganic 22,23 and organic [24][25][26][27][28] dopants and by mixing different compounds in different proportions 29,30 .…”
