Study on Dual-Rotor Permanent Magnet Induction Motor and Performance

Abstract: Abstract:In this paper, dual-rotor permanent magnet induction motor(DRPMIM) is studied to improve performance of usual induction motor(IM). Two-dimensional finite element model for DRPMIM is established by Maxwell Ansoft software, and electromagnetic characters of that was analyzed.Based on the rotating coordinate system, the mathematical model concerning DRPMIM, performance curves under the different load are obtained. The final simulation analysis results are in good agreement with the theoretical predicting… Show more

“…For a precise design of PMIM and better utilization, PMIM should be studied in detail. Diao (2015 and Tsuda et al (2007a, 2007b) study how to improve performance of PMIM. Gazdac et al (2013) introduces electric circuit parameters in steady state and discusses control strategy.…”

“…Several kind of dual rotor motors of this sort have been reported in recent literatures, such as: (i) double-sided slotted axial flux motor having two outer permanent magnet rotors and one inner winding stator [11,12]; (ii) dual rotor motor consisting of an outer stator, inner wound rotor and outer permanent magnet rotor [13]; (ii) dual rotor motor consisting of double stator as well as double rotor for electric moving vehicle that structurally seems to be two independent motors integrated into one [9]; (iii) dual rotor motor consisting of one inner and one outer permanent magnet rotors and one winding stator at the centre [10]; (iv) dual rotor motor consisting of one inner and one outer permanent magnet rotor and one toroidally wound stator at the centre [14], and the like. There are also literatures on dual rotor induction motor [15,16].…”
