“…Through the simulation of the coating temperature by this model, it is shown that the coating with low thermal conductivity can play the role of heat insulation, and it is found that among the studied coatings, TiAlN coating and TiAlN/α-Al 2 O 3 coating are the best thermal insulation coating. By simulating the cutting process, You et al 16 analyzed the influence of the tool coating/matrix system on the cutting temperature, and found that the difference of the intermediate coating between the coating and the matrix would affect the thermal conductivity of the whole system, thus affecting the temperature distribution in the heat transfer process. It is also found that the surface morphology of the coating affects the temperature distribution of the chip-tool interface.…”
