Rigid class scheduling and its value for online learning in higher education

The spread of coronavirus infection brings changes to all spheres of activity, including education, which is increasingly moving to a distance learning format. The ultimate goal of this study was to investigate the effectiveness of the recommendations for developing a rigid class scheduling method in the framework of online learning using advanced approaches updating traditional learning mechanisms. Overall, this research was conducted among 226 students and 54 teachers representing Moscow Aviation Institute and Kazan Federal University. Research methodology basis was represented by a sociological survey, which allowed identifying the problems of implementation of online learning from the students' standpoint. The collected outcomes showed that for 35% of students, one of the main problems in distance learning was the lack of self-discipline, which can be further adjusted by a clearly established schedule of classes (37% of respondents) and tests (29% of respondents). At the same time, the collected data showed that the learning process was most efficient in subgroups 1 (0.5), 2 (0.3), and 5 (0.45). Recommendations provided for further distance education improvement, first of all, related to schedule formation issues. More precisely, the paper emphasized the need for time constraints, even distribution of subjects, use of special applications, designation of dates for knowledge checking, and inclusion of additional learning materials. The findings and results of this work are believed to be of scientific value for the methodological departments of educational institutions responsible for curricula preparation as they are expected to significantly contribute to educational process advancement.

Today, English is the world’s main international language and is widely spoken. In this context, the learning of English has long been valued by all countries. In addition, English plays an essential role in the process of economic globalization, specifically in the majority of countries where English is not the native language. At the same time, as China’s integration into the world grows, the importance of English has become more pronounced, and the demand for English language skills has increased. At present, China’s ever-expanding opening to the outside world, its developing science and technology, and its rising international status have created an urgent need for English-speaking professionals. This will lay the foundation for China’s economic and social development and enable China to play a greater and more active role in international affairs, which has great practical and far-reaching historical significance. At present, the traditional English teaching mode has been criticized due to a great number of issues. At the same time, the new English language standards and the change of evaluation methods have created new demands on English teaching methods. As a result, with the development of artificial intelligence technology, the application of artificial intelligence technology in the field of education has brought new directions for the optimization of English classroom. In addition, diversified network technologies also provide new support for the realization of intelligent and collaborative English classroom teaching. To be specific, the maturity of English intelligent speech synthesis and intelligent speech evaluation technologies has enabled intelligent technologies to reach or even surpass the level of human teachers in certain areas. However, due to the limitations of the market environment and evaluation methods, the products that can focus on English classroom teaching are not highly intelligent and less collaborative. What is more, the process of English classroom intelligence has stagnated compared to other subjects. Obviously, from the perspective of integrating artificial intelligence technology with English classroom, it is quite necessary and feasible to design and develop an intelligent teaching assistant that can be applied to college English teaching. As information technology continues to evolve, both national and teacher levels are beginning to focus on how it can be better used in the teaching of subjects. Therefore, the use of online information technology in teaching and learning presents a great opportunity for research and practice in English language learning at the university level.

With the rapid development of society and the rapid change of software technology, the original teaching content and teaching mode of college English can no longer meet the learning needs of college students, so how to improve the quality of personalized teaching in the classroom of college English teachers is of great significance to improve the teaching level and other aspects. The article uses the idea of variable power to obtain personalized features, and through the Apriori algorithm, through data mining, so that students can choose courses suitable for themselves while using hierarchical analysis to evaluate and analyze the personalized teaching of English classroom in a university, in addition, using structural equation model to seek for factors affecting the personalized teaching of college English, and then improve the quality of English teaching. After normalization, we get E 2 = [0.305 0.463 0.166 0.069], which means that the students’ comprehensive judgment of the personalized teaching quality assessment system of English teachers in the university is good. Finally, through the construction of structural equation modeling, the correlation coefficients between “teaching responsibility,” “teaching level,” and “teaching method” are all above 0.9. Their C.R. values are all greater than 1.96, indicating that the students have good judgment on the personalized teaching quality assessment system of the English teachers in the school. Because the C.R. values are all above 1,96, the correlation between the three factors and teaching quality is more significant.
