Study on Catalyzed Tungstophosphoric Acid oxidation of p-Chloro Benzhydrol and p-Methyl Benzhydrol by N-Bromoisonicotinamide in Aqueous Acetic Acid Medium

Abstract: Tungstophosphoric acid catalyzed kinetics of oxidation of p-chloro and pmethyl benzhydrols by N-bromoisonicotinamide (NBIN) in aqueous acetic acid medium have been carried out. The oxidation kinetics of p-chloro and p-methyl benzhydrols by N-bromoisonicotinamide (NBIN) in presence of TPA (Tungstophosphoric acid) shows a first order dependence on [NBIN], [TPA] and fractional order on [substrate].
