Study on Alkali-Activated Prefabricated Building Recycled Concrete Powder for Foamed Lightweight Soils

Abstract: The advantage of a prefabricated building is its ease of construction. Concrete is one of the essential components of prefabricated buildings. A large amount of waste concrete from prefabricated buildings will be produced during the demolition of construction waste. In this paper, foamed lightweight soil is primarily made of concrete waste, a chemical activator, a foaming agent, and a foam stabilizer. The effect of the foam admixture on the wet bulk density, fluidity, dry density, water absorption, and unconfi… Show more

“…The core of the foaming method is the use of blowing agents, which can be chemical blowing agents or physical blowing agents. Chemical blowing agents create air bubbles in the concrete, while physical blowing agents introduce air bubbles through mechanical action [ 8 , 9 ]. Foamed lightweight concrete has advantages such as lightness, insulation, and environmental friendliness, but it also has disadvantages, such as a low compressive strength and uneven density [ 10 , 11 ].…”

“…The proposed model could be useful for cement producers as it facilitates the quick identification of different hydration modes of new binders, using only the heat of the hydration test as an input parameter. An innovative approach to demolition waste was presented by Xiao et al [12]. The authors proposed a process for preparing foamed lightweight soil using alkaline-activated concrete flour derived from prefabricated waste.…”
