Study of Transfer Characteristics of a Molecular Electronic Sensor for Borehole Surveys at High Temperatures and Pressures

Abstract: The paper considers the development and experimental study of the characteristics of a high-temperature motion parameter sensor based on molecular-electronic technology (MET) operating at elevated pressures. Studies were conducted in an extended temperature range (25–125 °C) with a static external pressure of up to 10 atm. A pilot plant based on a high-pressure chamber with the ability to output an electrical signal was specially designed and commissioned. A family of amplitude-frequency characteristics of a M… Show more

“…The condition |αd| 1 is considered to be valid. The graph presented in Figure 11 shows that the frequency dependence has a character of ∼ 1 f 1.4 , which practically coincides with the dependence of ∼ 1 f 1.5 , as was found experimentally in a number of works [32][33][34][35].…”

“…The formation of high geotemperature in tunnels is mainly determined by heat source and heat conduction channel. Primarily, heat sources can be divided into four categories [16][17][18]: (1) Hot spots are formed in the upper dome of mantle asthenosphere, i.e., deep crustal thermal anomaly; (2) Heat dissipation during cooling of underground magma chambers or high-temperature intrusions in the crust or surface ejecta, i.e., waste heat of magmatic rock;…”

“…Inertial motion sensors are the main elements of all mineral exploration systems. Currently, in addition to widely used electromechanical geophones, electrochemical geophones [1,2] operated on the principles of molecular-electronic transfer (MET) [3,4], have begun to be used in such land systems [5,6].…”
