Study of top quark pair production near threshold at the ILC

Abstract: We report on a study of top pair production at the International Linear Collider (ILC) around center of mass energy (E CM ) = 350 GeV using an ILD detector simulator based on the Detailed Baseline Design (DBD) configuration. Here we will report on a result of 6-Jet final state, tt → bW bW → bqqbqq. A result for the 4-Jet final state, tt → bW bW → bqqblν, which has almost the same statics as that of the 6-Jet final state will be included in the future. For an energy scan of 11 center of mass energy points (340 … Show more

“…Remarkably, the allowed range of v R for N 1 DM and leptogenesis from N 2 is consistent with the observed top quark mass, m t = (172.76 ± 0.30) GeV. The parameter space can be further probed by the warmness of DM, precision measurements of the top quark mass and QCD coupling constant by future colliders 34,35,36,37,38 and lattice computations 39 , and measurement of the neutrino mass hierarchy.…”

“…As mentioned above, study [4] considered two-parameter fits to the threshold scan data only. This is also the case for earlier studies [18,19], while simultaneous fit of four model parameters was previously considered in [20]. Presented approach, thanks to its simple, semi-analytical form, allows to perform fits with even more free model parameters.…”

“…This discrepancy, however, is not so problematic [29,42], because the experimental value is derived as an invariant mass for the final states of color singlets to fit data while M t in the above calculation of the RGEs is the pole mass. There might be a few GeV discrepancy between the singlet final state and the color octet t t pair, which is dominant at the hadron collider [43]. That said, it is also possible to have successful RK Higgs inflation for the top quark mass close to the experimental central value, by introducing other particles such as a singlet scalar dark matter with a TeV mass and heavy right-handed neutrinos.…”
