“…Considerable data have been accumulated regarding the diffusion coefficient of PEG and poly͑ethylene oxide͒ ͑PEO͒ in solution. [4][5][6][7][8][9][10][11][12][13][14] In 1971, Tanner et al 4 determined the self-diffusion coefficient, D, of PEO in CCl 4 by pulsed NMR methods. They found that the logarithmic function of D, ln D, is proportional to the polymer concentration in low molecular weight samples; whereas, for high molecular weight polymers, plots of ln D versus concentration exhibit a marked upward curvature.…”
