“…Liu et al 14 adopted the FLUENT combined with RNG turbulence model to analyze the multinozzle jets flow field and study the effects of inclination‐angle of forward nozzles and standoff distance. Xiao et al 22 established the three‐dimension drilling model of the self‐rotatory water‐jet bit, and conducted the numerical simulation of this model based on the sliding mesh model combined with RNG turbulence model; for a swirling jet, there has a central low‐speed zone, which will reduce the drilling efficiency 23 ; for a combination jet, a dual‐jet 24,25 can combine the advantages of both a straight and a swirling jet, however, its complex structure and larger volume mass limit its wide use in RJD.
