The elecbic quadrupole interaction at "'Cd and '"Ta impurity nuclei in a terbium host lattice has been measured as a function of temperature and pressure by time differential perturbed angular correlations. Both the observed temperature dependence: (d In q/dT)sooK = -5.7(3) X K-'(Cd) and (d lnq/dT),,,,~ = -7.2(4) X 10'4K-1(Ta), and the observed pressure dependence: (d Inq/dP),,oK= t 12.6(1.8) x lo-' kbar-' (Cd) and (d In q / d P ) a o o ~ = t 6.9(2.2) X 10kbar-I (Ta), disagree with point charge lattice sum predictions.
