Study of the dispersion properties of cylindrical waveguides with variable properties

Abstract: A method is presented for analyzing the dispersion relations for a hollow inhomogeneous cylin drical waveguide with an arbitrary law of change in the Lamé moduli (discontinuous or continuous). The boundary value problem is formulated, which contains two spectral parameters. An asymptotic analysis is performed for the long wavelength approximation, the structure of the dispersion set is studied, and results of calculating the dispersion sets for various laws of change in the Lamé moduli are presented.

“…However, there are more general approaches to the study of the dynamics of inhomogeneous solids. Vatul'yan and Morgunova [18] studied wave propagation in an elastic inhomogeneous cylindrical waveguide. The paper develop a method for constructing the dispersion spectrum for an arbitrary type of inhomogeneity using a combination of numerical methods.…”
