Study of the Cumulative Dose Between Fractions of Lung Cancer Radiotherapy Based on CT and CBCT Image Deformable Registration Technology

Abstract: Objective: To analyze the difference between planned dose and delivered dose by accumulating the dose based on CT and CBCT image deformable registration. Methods: The clinical data of 24 NSCLC (non-small cell lung cancer) patients receiving conformal radiotherapy or intensity-modulated radiotherapy (IMRT) were retrospectively analyzed. With the CBCT image of each week as the target image, we performed the deformation registration for CBCT images and planning CT images in RayStation. The delivered dose of CBCT … Show more

“…actual volumes at a specific fraction, were considered (16). Others also observed differences between delivered and planned GTV and OAR doses, albeit not significant (15,49). A radiotherapy plan at the moment of approval is an ideal, theoretical plan which does not perfectly depict dose variations due to volume changes and position inaccuracy over the course of treatment.…”

“…Lyman–Kutcher–Burman model was adopted for NTCP calculation using the equations as follows 36 : where TD 50 , n , and m were, respectively, set as 29.9 Gy, 1, and 0.41 for pneumonia from Semenko's results 37 ; TD 50 , n , and m were, respectively, set as 50.6 Gy, 0.64, and 0.13 for pericarditis from Martel's results 38 ; TD 50 , n , and m were, respectively, set as 51 Gy, 0.44, and 0.32 for esophagitis from Chapet's results 39 ; TD 50 , n , and m were, respectively, set as 66.5 Gy, 0.05, and 0.175 for myelitis from Luo et al's results. 40…”
