Study of the Convective Stratification of Airflows in a Mine Shaft

Abstract: The experimental study of heat and mass transfer in the atmosphere of a skip shaft of a Gypsum mine was carried out during the summer and winter seasons. The air flow overturning was observed in the winter season due to the ingress of cold heavy air from the surface into the shaft space.
