Study of synergetic effect by surface discharge plasma/TiO2 combination for indoor air treatment: Sequential and continuous configurations at pilot scale

Abstract: a b s t r a c tPolyactive ® membranes show promising properties for CO 2 separation from flue gas. An investigation of different module types using Polyactive ® membranes was carried out for this paper. A test rig was built to explore, amongst other process parameters, the pressure drop in envelope-type membrane modules. The experimental data and simulation results were compared with quite good consistency. This validation enabled further simulations for different modules in a virtual pilot plant configuration… Show more

“…In that context, the development of novel technologies for the removal of VOC from air is desirable (Assadi et al, 2015). This work proposes a kinetic model determination for an innovative system capable of degrading VOC when applied in conditions where currently used technologies show lack of capability, that is, when pollutants concentrations are low or when complete combustion treatment requires high temperatures and generates toxic products from burning (Tang, 2000).…”

“…As • OH-radical is highly oxidative, the increase of its concentration will lead to an increase in the conversion rate of BENZ. Additionally, when the RH increases, the competitive effect of adsorption toward the TiO 2 active sites of the water becomes predominant[32]. Then the RH has a negative effect on BENZ oxidation performance resulting from strong competition between water molecules and the pollutant at catalyst sites.…”
