Study of Molecular Interaction in Binary Mixtures of N,N-Dimethylformamide with 2-Butanol and 2-Pentanol at Temperatures Between 298.15 K and 323.15 K

Abstract: A study of viscosity for the binary mixtures of N,N-dimethylformamide with 2-butanol and 2-pentanol at atmospheric pressure and at temperatures between 298.15 K and 323.15 K have been measured over the entire range of composition. From these data, enthalpy of activation (∆ H ≠ ), excess enthalpy of activation (∆ H ≠ E ), entropy of activation (∆ S ≠ ), excess entropy of activation (∆ S ≠ E ) and interaction parameter (ɛ ) have been calculated. The Redlich-Kister polynomial equation was used for correlating all… Show more

“…The values of Δ S o and Δ H o were calculated using the slope and origin intercept of a graph of ln K eq versus 1/ T after calculating the thermodynamic equilibrium constant for the Gibbs free energy at various temperatures. Table S4’s positive entropy change (Δ S o = 75.84 J/mol K) and positive enthalpy change (Δ H o = 19.92 kJ/mol) values demonstrate that the absorption process is disrupted by the increased motility of the TC molecules in solution because the adsorption process is endothermic and the irregularity rises with temperature. , …”

“…Density measurement: In this investigation, the density (ρ) of all liquid mixtures and pure liquids was measured at 303.15 using a 105 mL double-arm pycnometer as reported by Nikkam et al [20,21]. In order to calibrate the pycnometer, water with a conductivity and a density of 995.61 kg/m 3 was employed.…”
