Study ofD**production and light hadronic states in theB¯0

Abstract: We report on the first observations ofB 0 → D1(2430)− decay is also observed. The branching fraction measurements are based on (771.6 ± 10.6) × 10 6 BB events collected at the Υ(4S) resonance with the Belle detector at the KEKB asymmetric-energy e + e − collider. The fractions of longitudinal polarization of the D * * states as well as partial wave fractions of the D1(2430) 0 are obtained. We also set a 90% confidence level upper limit for the product of branching fractions ofThe measurements show evidence of … Show more

“…Two values for the longitudinal polarization fraction are tried, one from the color-suppressed mode B 0 →D Ã0 ω, f L ¼ ð66.5 AE 4.7 AE 1.5Þ% [58] (this result is consistent with the result presented in Ref. [59]) and the other from the color-allowed mode B 0 → D Ã− ρ þ , f L ¼ ð88.5 AE 1.6 AE 1.2Þ% [60]. A systematic uncertainty of 1.6% for the B 0 →D Ã0 ½D 0 γπ þ π − modeling, corresponding to the largest deviation from the nominal result, is assigned.…”

“…The ratio of branching fractions BðB 0 s →D Ã0 ϕÞ=BðB 0 →D 0 π þ π − Þ is measured to be ð4.2 AE 0.5 AE 0.4Þ% and the branching fraction BðB 0 s →D Ã0 ϕÞ is ð3.7AE0.5AE0.3AE0.2Þ×10 −5 . The fraction of longitudinal polarization is measured to be f L ¼ ð73 AE 15 AE 4Þ%, which is comparable with measurements from similar color-suppressed B 0 decays [19,20]. The ratio of branching fractions BðB 0 s →D Ã0 ϕÞ= BðB 0 s →D 0 ϕÞ is 1.23 AE 0.20 AE 0.08.…”

“…The B 0 s →D Ã0 ϕ decay is a vector-vector mode and can proceed through different polarization amplitudes. A measurement of its fraction of longitudinal polarization (f L ) is of particular interest because a significant deviation from unity would confirm previous results from similar color-suppressed B 0 decays [19,20], as expected from theory [21,22]. This also helps to constrain QCD models and to search for effects of physics beyond the Standard Model (see review of polarization in B decays in Ref.…”
