Study of Linke Turbidity Factor over Bode, Bhaktapur

Abstract: The daily aerosol optical depth (AOD) data are derived from AERONET over Bode, Bhaktapur (27.68° N, 85.39° E, 1297 m above sea level) for a period of one year 2013. Annual mean of Atmospheric turbidity factors are calculated. The effect of different physical as well as meteorological parameters on the Linke turbidity factor was analyzed. The yearly mean of solar insolation, Angstrom exponential (α),Angstrom coefficient of turbidity (β) and Linke turbidity (LT) were found 4.70 ± 1.10kWh/m2/day, 1.13 ± 0.21 ,0.1… Show more

“…In figure 7 E and 2300 m a. s. l. ) for 2012 [21]. The annual average of visibility is found 18.48 ± 1.093 km over Jomsom (28.47 o N, 83.83 o E and 2,700 m a. s. l.) for 2012 [22].The Linke turbidity and visibility were found 5.70 ± 2.46 and 2.98 ± 2.13 km over Bode, Bhaktapur (27.68 o N, 85.39 o E, 1297 m a. s. l. ) for 2013 [23]. All the above results support to verify our results of Linke turbidity which is closer to the Asian cities.…”

“…Map of Bode is shown in figure 1. An average daily high temperature above 28 o C and average daily low temperature above 3 o C. The annual mean of solar radiation, Angstrom exponential (α) and Angstrom turbidity coefficient (β) were found 4.70 ± 1.10 kWh/m 2 /day, 1.13 ± 0.21 and 0.18 ± 0.14 respectively on Bode for 2013 [10]. Pyranometer is used to measured global solar radiation which is sum of direct solar radiation and diffuse solar radiation.…”

“…The Annual average of direct solar radiation is found 1106 ± 70 W/m2 in Jomsom (28.47 o N, 83.83 o E, 2,700 m a. s. l.) of Nepal for a year 2012[20]. Direct solar radiation is less on Bode due to air pollution having Linke turbidity 5.70 ± 2.46[10].…”
