Study of hygroscopic properties of the mixture of porous and non-porous materials by using optical techniques

Abstract: The hygroscopicity of Urea/Diatom compounds was investigated using the dynamic speckle technique, alongside the study of textural properties through nitrogen sorption. The results obtained by using optical methods provided insights into the hygroscopic behavior of the sample, in particular when high urea contents were present, which fall outside the range of applicability for the nitrogen sorption technique. The dynamic speckle technique served as a valuable complement to the conventional technique.
