Study of gel grown mixed crystals of Ba x Ca(1−x)(IO3)4

Abstract: The growth of mixed crystals of Ba x Ca 1-x (IO 3 ) 4 were carried out with simple gel method. The effect of various parameters such as pH of gel solution, gel concentration, gel setting time, concentration of reactants on the growth was studied. Crystals having different morphologies and habits were obtained. The grown crystals were characterized by XRD, FT-IR, EDAX, TGA, DTA and DSC.
