Study of Fuzzy Distance Measure and Its Application to Medical Diagnosis

Fermatean fuzzy set (FFS) is an effective tool to depict expert reasoning information in the decision‐making process than fuzzy sets (FS), intuitionistic fuzzy sets (IFS), and Pythagorean fuzzy sets (PFS). Keeping in mind the importance of correlation coefficient and application in medical diagnosis, decision making and pattern recognition, several studies on correlation coefficient measures have been proposed in the literature. As there does not exist any study concerning correlation coefficient measures for FFS, in this communication, we propose novel entropy-correlation measures for Fermatean fuzzy sets and applied it decision making problems of pattern analysis and multi-criteria decision making for supplier selection. With the help of proposed correlation coefficient, we establish some weighted measures for FFS. Using numerical computations, we determine the efficacy of the suggested measures over other measures. The aim of this study is to propose a novel and efficient methodology for evaluation of supplier’s selection with uncertain information. Finally, we establish the comparative study of our developed measures over the existing correlation coefficient measures. The analysis showed that the suggested methodology is reliable, flexible, and consistent with the existing techniques.

Managers nowadays face challenging decisions on daily basis and must weigh a growing number of factors while making such decisions. Previously, such judgments were frequently assessed solely based on a single criterion, such as profit or cost. Cost or profit, on the other hand, rarely captures the desirability of a decision option. One of the most common and popular research domains in decision science theory is the multiple attribute decision making (MADM) problem. To deal with such issues, a variety of approaches have been presented including TOPSIS. The primary goal is to uncover the importance aspect of divergence measures based on exponential function under Pythagorean fuzzy sets (PFSs), proposed by Yager (2013) and its application to multi attribute decision making. Numerical computations have been carried out to validate our proposed measures. Moreover, comparison of the result for the proposed measures has been carried out to demonstrate the efficacy.

Performance of exponential similarity measures in supply of commodities in containment zones during COVID‐19 pandemic under Pythagorean fuzzy sets

Following the breakout of the novel coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID‐19), the government of India was forced to prohibit all forms of human movement. It became important to establish and maintain a supply of commodities in hotspots and containment zones in different parts of the country. This study critically proposes new exponential similarity measures to understand the requirement and distribution of commodities to these zones during the rapid spread of novel coronavirus (COVID‐19) across the globe. The primary goal is to utilize the important aspect of similarity measures based on exponential function under Pythagorean fuzzy sets, proposed by Yager. The article aims at finding the most required commodity in the affected areas and ensures its distribution in hotspots and containment zones. The projected path of grocery delivery to different residences in containment zones is determined by estimating the similarity measure between each residence and the various necessary goods. Numerical computations have been carried out to validate our proposed measures. Moreover, a comparison of the result for the proposed measures has been carried out to prove the efficacy.
