Study of Electrochemical Degradation of Bromophenol Blue at Boron-doped Diamond Electrode by Using Factorial Design Analysis

Abstract: As an ideal anode material, Boron-doped diamond (BDD) has been widely applied in electrochemical oxidation of various organic pollutants, for its unique physical and chemical properties. In this paper, the authors studied the degradation of bromophenol blue through the electrochemical anodic oxidation by using the boron-doped BDD as the anode. The effect of statistically important operating parameters on treatment performance, such as treatment time, flow rate, applied current and concentration of supporting e… Show more

“…[34,35] The BPB has a high level of toxicity and persistence in different water systems. [33,36] Several wastewater treatment techniques such as adsorption, [37] photocatalysis, [34,38] biotic and biochemical degradation, [37] Cu(II)/H 2 O 2 /UV, [33] and EO using BBD electrode [36,39] have been investigated for the remediation of BPB contaminated synthetic wastewater. However, only EO showed excellent efficiency with other technologies having many disadvantages such as low efficiency, high cost, and complex operation conditions that inhibit the feasibility of scale-up for commercial applications.…”
