Study of easy care and biostatic properties of finished cotton fabric with polyamino carboxylic acids

Abstract: Polyamino carboxylic acids (PACAs) were used as novel finishing agents to create easy care and biostatic properties of cotton fabric. PACAs were synthesized by carboxylation of polyvinylamine with bromoacetic acid and 3-bromopropionic acid. The easy care effect was evaluated by measuring the wrinkle recovery angle and biostatic effect was estimated by the Formazan test. It was found that using PACAs create wrinkle resistant and biostatic cotton. Both properties were durable to multiple laundry wash. The impact… Show more

“…It has been found that PCAs form covalent cross-links and do not allow polymeric chains to slide, share and absorb any stresses (Haji and Payvandy, 2019). In this research, as there was no crosslink between b -CD and the silk chains, the loss in BTCA and the tensile strength of the treated samples increased (Dehabadi et al, 2013).…”

“…When β -CD was combined with BTCA, the loss of tensile strength emerged to depend on β -CD, BTCA and NTO concentrations. When an extra amount of β -CD, in comparison to BTCA, was used, the extra CDs reacted with BTCA and the tensile strength of the treated samples increased (Dehabadi et al , 2013).…”

“…In recent years many examples of antibacterial activity of Zinc oxide(ZnO) 8-10 ,16-18 . Titanium oxide(TiO2 )and other metal oxides have been described in literature [18][19][20][21][22][23] . It was demonstrated that the highest activity against bacteria was exhibited by Ag nanoparticles (NPs) with dimensions of 1-10 nm 24 and also by TiO2 NPs with dimensions of below 20 nm 25 .…”
