Study of Chemically Synthesized Polyindole/Poly(vinyl acetate) Conducting Composite Film

Abstract: Summary In this study, polyindole/poly(vinyl acetate) (PIN/PVAc) conducting composite film was prepared through chemical polymerization using oxidant FeCl3. As‐synthesized sample was characterized by Fourier transform infrared (FTIR), X‐ray diffraction (XRD) and DC conductivity measurements. FTIR spectra were supported polymerization of polyindole in presence of poly(vinyl acetate). The polymer chain separation was determined using XRD analysis. An attempt has been made to study temperature dependence of DC co… Show more

“…The IR spectra of the Cl‐NR/PIN blend show all the characteristic transmittance associated with the counterparts present in the blend system. The broad band appeared at 3447 cm −1 , representing the NH stretching vibration of PIN in the blend 30 . This broad appearance of the NH peak indicates that the nitrogen atom is not involved in bond formation in the blend system.…”

“…This broad appearance of the NH peak indicates that the nitrogen atom is not involved in bond formation in the blend system. The peak at 1459, 1385 cm −1 indicates the CN and CN stretching 30 . The bands at 1655 and 722 cm −1 are ascribed to the stretching of benzene ring in polyindole component of the blend.…”
