Study of chemical and physical parameters affected on purification of water from inorganic contaminants

Abstract: The ability to remove perchlorate anions was investigated by the adsorption technique in a laboratory scale and by a batch type unit from contaminated aqueous solutions prepared at specific concentrations. The adsorption process was carried out using banana peels, which were chosen as an available, cheap, and lowcost adsorption media. The studied operating conditions in the treatment process were the acidic function, shaking speed, contact time, temperature, in addition to the initial concentration of perchlor… Show more

“…This can be explained by the saturation of the adsorption sites on the adsorbent material (Abbas and Ibrahim, 2020). At this point, the adsorbent has reached its maximum capacity and is no longer capable of adsorbing additional dye molecules (Abdullah et al, 2023).…”

“…They are available materials that are non-valuable and must be disposed of, in addition to having effective aggregates and a suitable surface area that made them a successful alternative to activated carbon, as well as being materials with appropriate efficiency and good effectiveness in treating pollutants . These materials include banana peels (Abdullah et al, 2023) (Abdulkareem et al, 2023). A wide range of contaminants can be remediated by agricultural and industrials wastes, such as phenols (Ho, 2022), inorganic toxic (Alalwan et al, 2020), heavy metals (Hashem et al, 2021), hardness (Ibrahim et al, 2021), etc.…”
