Study of Augmented Reality Based Manufacturing for Further Integration of Quality Control 4.0: A Systematic Literature Review

Abstract: Augmented Reality (AR) has gradually become a mainstream technology enabling Industry 4.0 and its maturity has also grown over time. AR has been applied to support different processes on the shop-floor level, such as assembly, maintenance, etc. As various processes in manufacturing require high quality and near-zero error rates to ensure the demands and safety of end-users, AR can also equip operators with immersive interfaces to enhance productivity, accuracy and autonomy in the quality sector. However, there… Show more

“…Although, in this case, there is increased diversity in the nature of applications, since they come from different areas, the ones achieving the highest score in providing the selected taxonomy criteria are the publications by Li et al [ 87 ] in the field of engineering, and the one by Ho et al [ 88 ] in the field of industry, both with a 7 out of 10. In Figure 7 we can see which criteria are most and which are least used by researchers in reviews of AR in education.…”

“…In the following, the further steps of the planning are presented. For sub-step 1.2 Derivation of requirements, the selection of bibliographic sources is made on the databases Scopus and web of science, because for related SLR in the area of Lean Management (Salentijn et al 2021), Virtual Reality (Domingueti et al 2021;Mak et al 2020), Augmented Reality (Ho et al 2022;Quandt and Freitag 2021: 4 f), Education (Checa and Bustillo 2020) and Concepts these databases have provided the most results and thus the largest possible overview can be achieved. With the catchwords, the three topic areas VR/AR (assistance systems), Lean Management and Six Sigma as well as education are to be subdivided.…”

“…The advent of virtual reality technology provides better support for maintainability. The current research on virtual maintenance technology focuses on the following aspects: virtual maintenance prototype modeling [19][20][21][22][23], virtual simulation action process generation [24][25][26], maintenance training [27,28], product design [29,30], and maintainability evaluation under virtual simulation [31][32][33].…”
