“…This pH was found to be slightly lower than reported previously for Hantaan virus (pH~6.3; Arikawa et al, 1985). For ANDV it has been recently reported that Gn/Gc incorporated into pseudotyped particles suffer irreversible conformational changes at pH~6.0 and below (Ray et al, 2010). Our data indicate that the pH at which ANDV fusion occurs is more similar to that of phlebo-and orthobunyaviruses (pH~5.4-5.8;Hacker & Hardy, 1997;Lozach et al, 2010), indicating that ANDV may correspond to late-penetrating viruses which escape from maturing endosomes or even later compartments.…”

“…[17][18][19] A PsVNA measured neutralizing antibody responses to Ebola GP (US Army Medical Research Institute of Infectious Diseases, Fort Detrick, MD). 16,[20][21][22][23][24] This assay is based on non-replicating VSV expressing luciferase reporter protein particles pseudotyped with ZEBOV envelope glycoproteins. 20 The assay determined the highest serum dilutions causing 50% (PsVNA50) and 80% (PsVNA80) inhibition of virus cell entry and expression of luciferase.…”

“…1) represents a unique attenuated replication-competent VSV construct that expresses a glycoprotein from a bunyavirus, although replication-incompetent VSV particles have previously been pseudotyped with glycoproteins from "Old World" (35,49) and "New World" (54,60) hantaviruses. Bunyaviruses are generally believed to mature and bud from the Golgi apparatus, including the incorporation of the glycoproteins into virus particles (63).…”
