Study of amphiphilic properties of amine- and oligo(ethylene glycol)-containing (meth)acrylic monomers

Abstract: The two-dimensional classification was applied to the estimation of hydrophilic-hydrophobic properties of four aminecontaining (meth)acrylic monomers, 2-hydroxyethyl methacrylate, and four oligo(ethylene glycol) methacrylates of various degrees of the ethoxylation. For the monomers, the standard free energy of partition between water and organic phase and standard free energy of adsorption of monomers at the interface were determined in hexane/water systems. Based on the standard free energy of partition and s… Show more

“…The resulting non-standard reaction kinetics can be further altered by the alignment of nascent oligomers with longer persistence lengths. 15 This type of local concentration enrichment has previously been reported in both experimental and computational observations of the ''bootstrap'' effect, 13,[16][17][18][19][20][21] in which an increase in the local availability of one monomer type shifts the relative kinetics of comonomer pairs during a reaction. Analogous behavior occurs in polymerization induced self-assembly (PISA), a widely studied synthetic approach in which a controlled radical polymerization drives self-assembly among nascent oligomers This journal is © The Royal Society of Chemistry 2022 consisting of a growing block of one type of monomer attached to a pre-formed oligomer of a different type.…”

“…Одним из часто применяемых вариантов является определение ГЛБ с помощью измерения коэффициента распределения вещества в смесях неполярного растворителя (обычно -углеводорода) и воды  например, используются системы октанол-вода, гептан-вода, гексан-вода и др. [5]. Мы выбрали для АОЭГМ именно такой вариант определения ГЛБ, как наиболее приближенный к характеристикам растворимости в воде полимеров на основе этих макромономеров.…”

“…[1][2][3][4][5][6][7] However, determining the relationship between particle coagulation and particle size distribution of final latex particles is still a matter of debate, for instance, Ishii et al [8] considered that a steady growth without the aggregation of particles was necessary for preparing monodisperse polymer particles; In contrast, Telford et al [9] considered that the monodisperse polymer particles could be obtained in the presence of particle coagulation.…”
