Study of a Simple Linearization Technique of p-n-Junction-Type Anemometric Flow Sensor

Abstract: A p-n-junction-type flow sensor is used to measure the mass flow rate of a fluid through a pipeline by using anemometric principle. In this transducer, the cooling effect of a flowing fluid on the forward resistance of a constant-current or a constantvoltage p-n junction diode is utilized to sense the mass flow rate of the fluid flowing in contact with the diode surface. However, the main drawback of the sensor is that its flow characteristic is nonlinear. In this paper, a very simple linearization technique o… Show more

“…Three pair of electrodes were used, one for bubble generation vivo monitoring of fluid bubble, which is 83µm/sec. The results show that the flow nemometric sensor has been proposed in [14] as linear. The system has been developed and fabricated and the experimental results show linearity in flow characteristics.…”

“…Customarily, Flow rate is determined by utilizing by different sensor like anemometer [3], ultrasonic sensor [4], thermal sensor [5] and so forth. Because of high estimating precision and extremely short reaction time, anemometer type warm stream sensor has been broadly utilized in aviation, petroleum processing plant, flammable gas and so forth for standard estimation.…”

“…Most of the process control system is threatened due to illegitimate input parameter settings [1,2].To optimize the performance of a multivariable process control system through the classical method is obstinate and gradual. The main snag of the classical optimization is to getting the retaliation influenced by individual independent variables than other input variables should be kept constant thats inreciprocative between the input variables are absent.Precautional provision, the total number experimental trials are increased which is time elapsing.Thats why alternative approach is taken where mathematical modelling (computational optimization) of the process is designed (inputCoutput relationship) using various computational intelligence techniques. The model could be based on either physical phenomena or the historical inputCoutput data for a provisioned system.Once the model is developed, mathematical techniques can be applied to determine the inputs to the process that will persuade a certain given criterion.A number of literature survey is conduct on the different types of optimization techniques applied in flow rate control system. A semiconductor based Anemometer type flow meter is designed in [3], and [4] propose to eliminate the non linearity relation between the flow rate & Anemometer flow sensor output. Bera et al [5] shows a comparative study between the matched pair transistors flow meter and platinum resistance temperature detector.…”
