Studies on the Livetins of Hen's Egg Yolk: I. Identification of Paper-Electrophoretic and Immunoelectro-Phoretic Livetin Fractions With Serum Protein Antigens by Immunoelectrophoretic Analysis

Abstract: Immunoelectrophoretic analysis of a n egg yolk livetin preparation has demonstrated the presence of six distinct fractions, which were numbered 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, a n d 6 from the anodic end of the electropherogram. Four of these fractions have been identified with four livetin fractions obtained by paper electrophoresis a s follows: immunoelectrophoretic fraction 1 with alpha-livetin, fraction 2 with beta-livetin, fraction 4 with gammal-livetin, and fraction 5 with gammaz-livetin.Immunoelectrophoresis of hen seru… Show more

“…Articles on an assortment of avian substances too diverse to classify cover oviduct proteins (322, 1658), pigeon perilymph (1694), lenses (547, 845, 846, 1212), pancreatic enzymes (894), feather keratin (872), effect of ionizing radiation (2150) and cold storage (1616) on tissue proteins, and embryonic spermine and spermidine (1807), brain proteins (1982), and the mesodermal induction factor (2233). Other reports per-tain to chicken egg proteins from yolks (1533,1534,1822,2073) and whites (162,1292,1473,1541,1598,1715), and the effects upon them of storage (958,1498,1970). Egg proteins from birds of different species have been compared (II4, 408, 2067, 2253).…”
