Abstract:The effect of nitrogen (N) forms on the chemical composition of three cultivars of Lupinus albus L. has been studied. The N form had a significant effect on accumulation of alkaloids, polyamines, and sugars dependent upon the cultivar. In general, the ammonium and nitrate (NH 4 + +NO 32 ) and amine (-NH 2 ) forms in all cultivars caused visible increases in alkaloid content. In the case of cv. 'Butan,' the (NH 4 + + NO 3 2 ) and (NO 3 2 ) forms caused significant increases in polyamine contents, whereas Bradyr… Show more
scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
