Studies on the cis-Dihydroxylation of Drimanediene Skeleton.-The osmylation reaction of dienic sulfone (Ia), a potential key intermediate for forskolin and related drimane and labdane diterpenes, occurs exclusively on the ∆ 6−7 double bond and preferentially from the α-face of the molecule. The influence of substituents at C1 on the stereoselectivity of this reaction is studied. A reverse of stereoselection from the α to the β-face is never observed. -(LECLAIRE, M.; JEAN, P.; RICARD, L.; LALLEMAND, J. Y.; Synth.
