On the other hand, during experiments in vivo the measurement of labeled precursor incorporation into sterols (Jansen et al,1970 ;Popjak and Beeckmans, 1950 ;Schwenk et at., 1955 ;Van Bruggen et al, 1953), without estimating the contribution of cholesterol transfer between the plasma and the organs to the labeling, may have also resulted in some cases in erroneous values.
