Such separations may be carried out on columns, with a variety of supporting media (Porter, 1953;Mendiola & Cole, 1960;Davoren, 1962;Epstein & Anfinsen, 1963;Smith, 1964), or alternatively by paper chromatography (Light & Simpson, 1956;Grodsky & Tarver, 1956;Taylor, Humbel, Steinke & Renold, 1961).
