Studies on the Adaptation of Dermatophytes to Griseofulvin

ZusammcnfassungZahlreiche Gruppen von Dermato hytenkolonien der Arten Epidermophyton fioccowuchsen auf der Oberflache des Glukose-Pepton-Agars bei 31' C. Jede Koloniengruppe wurde aus einer Suspension von Keimen des untersuchten Stammes in physiologischer Losung iiberimpft. Der Bereich der Heterogenitat der qualitativen Eigenschaften des Dermatophyteninokulums wurde beobachtet. A h ein grundlegendes quantitatives Merkmal der Heterogenitat dienten die Werte des horizontalen Zuwachses des Koloniendurchmessers in m d 2 4 Stunden wahrend der exponentiellen Wachstumsphase. Es wurde bestatigt, da5 die Merkmaldistribution der normalen Distributionskurve entspricht. 7,4 % der untersuchten Koloniengruppen hatten ein auflerordentlich heterogenes Inokulum. Es wurde weiter bewiesen, da5 es Kolonien derselben Gattung, Art oder desselben Stammes gibt, deren Hyphen bei gleichformigen Bedingungen bedeutend rascher oder langsamer wachsen, als die anderer Kolonien. Es wird iiber die Ursache der extremen Heterogenitat des Inokulums und iiber die Bedeutung dieser Feststellung fur experimentelle Arbeit mit Dermatophyten diskutiert. SummaryNumerous groups of dermatophyte colonies of the species Epidermophyton floccosum, Trichophyton rubrum, Trichophyton mentagrophytes and Microsporum gypseum grew on the surface of glucose-peptone-agar at 31' C. Each group of the colonies was inoculated from a suspension of the tested strain in saline. The dimension of the heterogeneity of qualitative properties of the inoculum of dermatophytes was followed. The values of phase were used as a fundamental symptom of the heterogeneity. It was proved, t rowth at the horizontal colonies' diameter increases in mm/24 h. during the exponential course of values distribution in numerous groups agrees with the normal distribution curve. 7.4 % of the observed colonies groups had an extremely heterogenous inoculum.It was further proved, that there are colonies' groups of the same genus, species and or also the strain, the hyphae of which, in uniform conditions grew significantly more quickly or more slowly than in groups of other colonies.
