Studies on Synthesis of Novel Pyrido[2,3‐d] pyrimidine Derivatives and Their Anticancer Activity

Abstract: A series of novel pyrido[2,3-d]pyrimidine derivatives 7 were prepared starting from 2-amino nicotinonitrile 3 via Grignards reaction followed by cyclization and nucleophilic substitution. All the products 7 were screened against four human cancer cell lines . Compounds 7b, 7e, 7m, and 7o that showed good activity against all the cell lines have been identified.
