Studies on Cu2SnS3 quantum dots for O-band wavelength detection

Abstract: In this communication, we report on Cu2SnS3 quantum dots synthesized by the solvothermal process using different solvents. The optical properties of the quantum dots are analyzed by UV-Vis-NIR and photoluminescence spectroscopy. The results suggest that Cu2SnS3 material has tunable energy bandgap and appropriate wavelength for fabrication of light emitting diodes and laser diodes as sources for fiber optic communication. They exhibit wide absorption in the near infrared range. Further morphological studies wit… Show more

“…Among the optical telecom systems in the modern world, the wavelength-division multiplexing approach enables the simultaneous transmission of different light wavelengths in tens or even hundreds of channels through optical fibers. Long-wavelength bands with broadband are increasingly being used in telecommunications . The C band is useful for optical communication due to its low-loss region and efficient optical amplification to account for the transmission loss of fiber transmission.…”

“…Long-wavelength bands with broadband are increasingly being used in telecommunications. 76 The C band is useful for optical communication due to its low-loss region and efficient optical amplification to account for the transmission loss of fiber transmission. Although the transmission loss is even lower for the L band than for the C band, microbend-induced loss and macrobend sensitivity must be accounted for in selecting the L band region.…”

“…Although this field is primarily focused on NASA applications, advances in laser communications may find their way into commercial and Department of Defense applications in the future. Overall, laser communications are an untapped advance with great potential to transform space and communications to date [1][2][3][4][5][6] Due to the increase in communication speed, it is called the era of modern long distance communication. , High data transmission rate, security, antiinterference effect, unregulated frequency, etc., Laser communication is much better.…”

“…In semiconductor QDs, the size, shape, and composition of the quantum confined states can be controlled to tailor their energies and wave functions. Semiconductor QDs have gained a lot of attention in recent years as potential replacements for small molecules and polymers in optoelectronic devices application such as light-emitting diodes (LEDs) and Laser diodes (LDs) [1][2][3].…”
